to a strict code of practice which they commit to
every year when they renew their membership. The
code of practice covers their relationship with
customers throughout the building process.
EBC European Builders Confederation is a European
professional organisation, which represents national
organisations that represent craftsmen and SMEs
from the construction sector.

Trading Standards "Square Deal"
Established by Portsmouth City Council Square Deal
was introduced to allow reputable businesses the
opportunity to belong to a select membership in
respect to their companies Health & Safety,
Good working practices and Customer appraisals.
CONTRACTORS
HEALTH & SAFETY ASSESSMENT SCHEME
Local authority health and safety and contract professionals,
supported by the Health and Safety Executive, have
developed the Contractor Health and Safety (CHAS)
Assessment Scheme over recent years.
